Adacel recognized the need for a scenario tool for flight training that provides the capability to conduct precision approach radar control approaches. With its VPAC product, flight training programs can now include radar approaches for both civil and military applications. With the advent of the first Gulf War, without ILS or other precise instrument approaches available, the world commercial fleet that supported the transport of personnel and supplies were forced to retrain in precision approaches that had been abandoned. VPAC provides the capability to conduct PAR approaches within the ATCiB simulated environment, or as a stand alone add-on capability to the customer simulation device. Vectoring, centerline, and glide slope control calculations and concurrent controller synthetic speech calls provide realistic scenarios to conduct rehearsal training for wartime and other world predictable low visibility, limited hardware environments.
